Corporate Express News Release - November 10, 1999 U.S. Navy Awards Five Year, Multi-Million Dollar Contract to Corporate Express Corporate Express is the U.S. Navy’s Supplier of Office Products

BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Corporate Express, A Buhrmann Company, the leading supplier of essential office and computer products and services to corporations that value innovative procurement solutions, today announced that it has signed a five year contract renewal – valued at approximately $57.5 million – to provide the U.S. Navy with office products, janitorial products, tools, hardware and other maintenance repair and operating related items. Under the terms of the contract Corporate Express will provide products and services primarily to Navy and Marine Corps commands in the San Diego area, but may be used by any federal government customer located in the Western United States. The contract became effective October 1, 1999. The U.S. Navy had a similar contract with Corporate Express for its office products and services, effective February 1, 1997. As part of its service, Corporate Express established a department of 33 employees, called ExpressMart, to work exclusively with the Southwest Region Navy and Marine Corps activities to ensure that the unique nature, language and needs of these organizations are met. Corporate Express is establishing an on-site customer service center at one of the key Naval Stations where naval personnel can meet with company representatives, or receive free training on E-Way, Corporate Express’ proprietary electronic procurement solution.
