Lex Elkins joined Corporate Express in 1993. Prior to being named to his present position, he served as Group President responsible for the Eastern United States Office Products Business and as Regional President before that.

Prior to joining Corporate Express, Elkins served as Group President of Hanson Office Products Company. From 1988 to 1990 he was President and owner of Express Office Products, an office products distributor. Elkins began his career in the office supply industry in 1979 at Lucas Brothers where he served as Sales Manager, Vice President of Sales and Executive Vice President.

Elkins hold a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of South Carolina with continuing education from Emory University.
