4. Customers
Corporate Express views corporate social responsibility and sustainability as a partnership that starts with our offering of eco-friendly products, and extends to sharing sustainable practices and educating our customers. In partnership with customers, we:

  • Continue to expand our green product offering in all areas: office products, facility supplies and furniture.
  • Increase our use and offering of paper products that contain a high level of post-consumer waste content.
  • Continue to offer our full line of environmentally preferable Sustainable Earth facility cleaners.
  • Complement our sustainable product line with sustainable customer practices, such as online ordering to reduce paper, order frequency optimization to reduce deliveries and emissions.
  • Recycling programs for catalogs and toner and inkjet cartridges to name a few.
  • Provide tools, such as online green shopping, and educational consultations, like our Spotless Earth forums, to educate customers about sustainable cleaning.

5. Environment
Corporate Express actively seeks new ways to further minimize our impact on people and the planet. In support of our environment, we:

  • Set aggressive post-consumer waste (PCW) goals:
    • Use an average of 30% PCW paper internally.
    • Print marketing materials on an average of 30% PCW paper.
  • Continue to reduce building and facility footprint:
    • Attain LEED certification for selected new facilities.
    • In all facilities, implement energy conservation, waste reduction and pollution prevention measures.
  • Continue to reduce the footprint of our delivery fleet.
  • Measure results, following the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework, starting in 2009:
    • Develop and measure achievable goals.
